In a harrowing turn of events, tragedy struck in Nekede, Owerri West Local Government Area, Imo State, as a husband fatally stabbed his wife after allegedly catching her with another man in their matrimonial home.
Reports indicate that on April 10th, a concerned neighbor alerted the husband about his wife’s extramarital affair, prompting him to rush home and confront the situation head-on.
Upon arrival, the husband discovered his wife with her lover in their bedroom.
Sparking a fit of rage. In a horrifying act, he attacked his wife with a knife, resulting in severe injuries from which she tragically succumbed.
Shockingly, the lover was allowed to leave unharmed, leaving behind the couple’s six-year-old daughter, who witnessed the devastating ordeal from the living room.
Confirming the incident, Henry Okoye, spokesperson for the Imo State Police Command, appealed to the public, particularly residents of Nekede, to provide any relevant information to aid in the investigation.
In response, Commissioner of Police CP Aboki Danjuma has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to conduct a thorough probe into the matter to ensure that justice is served for the victim and her family.
