Adams Oshiomhole, the senator representing Edo North senatorial district, slammed the N30,000 monthly minimum pay as a “criminal wage” on Sunday, claiming that his cleaner is paid no less than N60,000.

“What we call the minimum wage is a criminal wage,” Oshiomhole stated on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.
“What does N30,000 translate to if you exchange it for N800 or N700 to the dollar?”
So, the value of the N125 minimum wage when it was originally established, I believe, under Shehu Shagari’s regime, is around two or three times the value many years later, even in the public sector.
