Olumide Akpata, the former president of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), has joined the Labour Party.
This was announced by Akpata in a tweet on Tuesday. He claims to have joined LP in March and that he went to his first ward gathering on Saturday.
“Quite a few people have called or messaged me to confirm the rumours that I have joined a political party, which are currently going around”.
“Yes, I officially introduced myself to the Oredo Ward 6 residents and received my Party membership card at my first Ward Meeting on Sunday. I joined the @labourparty_ng in March of this year”.
“This was a big step for me, and I didn’t take it lightly…But I simply became weary of lamenting Nigeria’s fate and whining about it daily, so I decided to try to contribute to the solution rather than continue to wallow in the problem”,
“This is the beginning of a very significant journey for me, and I pray that I reach my objective without incident. Change is possible; be the change you want to see by using the hashtags “#Nigeria #Edo #LP #ForwardEver.” He concluded.
