Edo FA cup gets Bet9ja as Official sponsor

The vibes has return to Edo state football since the coming on board of the present executive members of the Edo state football Association, in November 2023, following a well conducted elective Congress supervised by the first vice President of the Nigeria football federation ( NFF) Felix Ayansi.

With recent events, football activities has been given a huge boast in Edo state, as stakeholders of the game are pleased with what the present board of the Edo state Football Association Led by Fred Newtown Erhunmwunse has brought to the table, as witnessed during the Edo FA cup draws on Monday in Benin City.

In view of the above , Edo FA has added another cap, as a leading name in sports betting in Nigeria, Bet9ja takes over the Edo FA cup as official sponsor. This was disclosed by the Edo FA boss, Fred Newtown Erhunmwunse on Tuesday March 6th 2024 in his office during a chat with the press.

He said following his successful discussion with the chairman, chief executive officer of Betnaija, owners of NPFL side Remo stars, chief Kunle Soname, the Edo FA cup will now be known as Bet9ja Edo FA cup 2024 competition.

“Edo FA cup just scored another important goal, we now have a titled sponsor for the state FA cup, Bet9ja a leading name in sports betting in Nigeria, this is massive and a big boost to football in Edo state, am so happy to get an official sponsor as big as Bet9ja for the competition,

“My discussion with chief Kunle Soname was fruitful and he has agreed to Support the Edo FA cup, as the competition will now be known as Bet9ja Edo FA cup, the Remo stars boss said he is ready to support us because he has seen some good ideas, innovation we have brought, since we came on board last year, adding that he will throw his weight fully behind us, because we have done well in less than five months in office,

“Soname who is the founder of a private Nigerian airline value jet said, he will support the Edo FA Cup 2024 financially and also give his support to the FA football activities to enable us succeed in our quest to develop football in the state,

The Edo FA boss however used the occasion to expressed his delight and appreciation to the former Kwara United Fc GM, Mr Bash Ali, Ovia North East local government area FA boss Roland inonojie for their roles in ensuring everything went well.

The Bet9ja Edo FA cup will begin March 10th 2024 at S& T Army Barracks, Ugbowo Benin City, and western Boys high school mini sports complex, ikpoba hill with 31 teams participating.
