Former Vice President Prof Yemi Osinbajo is extending a golden opportunity to Nigerian youths through the Innovation to Transform Education Training (ITET) program.
In an announcement posted on his verified X (formerly Twitter) account on Thursday, August 31, 2023, he unveiled this initiative, supported by UNESCO, which aims to nurture 50 young innovators in the field of education.
ITET, a collaborative effort between Future Perspectives, one of Osinbajo’s initiatives, and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization & International Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (UNESCO IESALC), is scheduled to be held in Lagos, Nigeria, from November 20 to 24, 2023. The application deadline is September 20, 2023.
The former vice president’s mission with ITET is to empower young Nigerians with the skills and knowledge to drive positive changes within the Nigerian and African educational landscapes.
Osinbajo encourages all interested youths to apply, emphasizing the significance of this opportunity for Nigerian education.
He said, “This presents a significant responsibility and opportunity for all Nigerian youths, and we eagerly anticipate your inspiration and dedication.”
Osinbajo also highlighted the program’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity, noting, “We will select 50 exceptional individuals from various educational and social backgrounds who exhibit a strong passion for EdTech and a dedication to shaping a brighter future for our communities.”
